I vow upon the hawthorne shards that we’re still fucking fucked.

The Shanty of the Center of the Wound is a 71-page experimental epic. The verse takes its cues from poets such as Alice Notley and Ann Carson, as well as Renaissance poets such as Spencer and Philip Sidney. Following the invasion of the island of Hyrule by The Count, Moloch comes into being to perhaps liberate the land, as The Correspondent follows along and changes along the way.

The poem for me was written largely in the 2010s, when I was just beginning to come out, and right after. It gestated and mutated into something very queer and filled with sorrow and shieldmaidens. I don't think I'll write anything quite like it again.
